1) Don't park your car anywhere near Josh's truck doors.
2) Don't fly out of the city.
3) Bathrooms. Who else learned this lesson?

This was my first time seeing Josh play with his band so I would have to say I learned that they are truly amazing! I learned to DREAM! I too learned something about a bathroom.

Bathroom!!! ( they don't call it "Perkins" for nothing!)
Can you smoke anywhere in Iowa???
Iowa has an "Odor Amplifier" See also "Bathroom" See also "Bass Player"
It kinda like Cedar Lake with floride in the water.

This past weekend in Iowa was an experience of a lifetime for me and i want to thank Josh for the opportunity. It was surreal to play in what i would call the closest place on earth to the fountain of youth where time has stood still for 47 years and counting. I truly felt the spirit and ambiance of a generation who's lives sharply turned at the loss of those aboard the American Pie. It was a pleasure to be a part of a pinnacle moment in Josh's life and again i thank you man...

I learned that:
1. Josh continues to amaze me on stage. So much so that I was overcome with emotion seeing him up there.
AND
2. The Nelson Brothers are HOT!!!!!

I learned a few things. One is do not expect to get any sleep around miss Alison! But that's ok, it was a lot of fun and well worth the exhaustion. Another thing I learned on this trip is that you all are truly a great bunch of people, I'm so happy I've been welcomed by you, and that I was able to be a part of such an amazing experience.
I also learned that we all are very lucky to have such an amazingly talented musician here at home with us, that we are able to go and see every week, sometimes two and three times a week. Those were the words of Emil as we were walking away from the Surf Ballroom stage after Josh and the guys' incredible performance. I could not have summed it up any better.

I learned: 1. The difference between a smack and a crush... 2. Apparently there is always something exciting going on in the bathroom. 3. Older men will buy a CD if I tell them I love them. 4. Rocket Ronnie sure can dance! 5. That Jeka has reflexes like a jack rabbit.... 6. How to turn on the sink...haha 7. A certain someone has a very white tushie... 8. Not to wear Josh's commemorative T-Shirt 9. That there is something Magical about Clear Lake Iowa in February... 10. Gunner Nelson is HOTTTTTTTT!!!! 11. That I am lucky to know such great people who will take time out of their lives to go see one of their good friends achieve a life long dream. Thanks to Alison, Trisha, Vicki, Debi, Brian, Al, Pattie, Ron, Emil, Nick, Anthony, TimMAy, (Em in spirit), Alex, Jill, Greg, Jeka, and all the new folks we met in Iowa for making it one of the most fun weekends I have had in a long time. And of course thanks to Josh for having a dream and sharing it with all of us.

What did I learn in Iowa?
1. That hanging out with my parents at the senior center wasn't that bad.
2. That I liked having Lily's face nestled in my breasts.
3. I didn't realize that Iowa was home to the World's Largest Truck Stop, but I guess they have enough open space for something so spectacular.
4. That I don't really want to share a motel room with my brother again any time soon. J/K Josh.
5. Going to Clear Lake, Iowa is like going back in time.
On a serious note, I want to say that it was an amazing experience and I was happy to be a part of it. My brother has been doing this a long time, I've been going to his shows since the beginning, and I am always so proud of him. But the pride I felt for him on Feb. 4th cannot be expressed with words. Josh, you deserve every good thing that comes your way and I will always support you.

Josh is definately my parents favorite, but I think I'm running a close second. Family joke.

Well Iowa was definately an amazing experiece. From being able to be there to support my friend fulfilling his lifelong dream to Lily riding Debi on the way home... Let me sum it up for all of you what I learned in Iowa... 1. You can't smoke anywhere. 2. I will have Gunner Nelson's babies any day. 3. V.I. will never die! 4. Lily needs to buy some new sports bras. 5. Hotel beds are good for jumping. 6. Clear Lake police have nothing better to do then stalk girls from Indiana. 7. Spider monkey's aren't allowed at the Budget Inn. 8. I will, for the rest of my life cry during 'american pie'. 9. Nick is my big brother from another mother. 10. There are NO tanning beds near Clear Lake. 11. Minnesota is populated with gorgeous men.. when are we going there?!?!?! 12. Debi doesn't like clubby dance music. 13. Vickie HATES feet!! 14. There's a lot of A$$ along I-80. 15. It's always going to be a good thing when Josh feels like he's going to puke before a show.
Well, I think that's as best as I can do right now, but what an amazing weekend. I can't wait to go back again next year. And on a serious note, Josh, wow, if last weekend wasn't an obvious sign for you then let me point it out, i think this is just the beginning!!! It's only going to get better from here. The BoDeans is in 12 days.....

I came back with a plethora of good ones in Iowa....
1. Nobody is friggen funnier than the alex, josh, jeka trio (as a drummer i just watch the antics) 2. Driving on the yellow median at 85 mph will get you pulled over...(sorry jeka) 3. Do not let strange men with handlebar mustaches buy your girlfriend drinks 4. You cannot do the Karate Kid crane from atop a bar chair... 5. Allison should crimp her hair more often. 6. Never ever doubt the power of music, and the generation from the 50's 7. What ever you do, do not look at your friends in the front row during american pie...you may start to feel misty too...
can't wait until the next big road trip
